Esta entidade foi creada polos emigrantes naturais do concello ourensán de Vilamarín residentes na Arxentina. Tiña finalidades culturais e instrutivas, sendo a súa intención a defensa da instrución na súa terra natal.
En 1932 os socios desta sociedade aproban en asemblea xeral a súa fusión coa "Sociedad de ayuda mutua residentes de Villamarín", creándose unha nova entidade denominada "Centro Villamarín", xa con finalidades mutualistas e recreativas.
